Parainema

For over a decade, our partner Jorge Lagos has been experimenting with new coffee varietals on his farm, Finca Santa Teresa, in Dipilto, Nicaragua. His Parainema trees thrive at 1200–1300 meters above sea level, where cool nights and rich volcanic soil help develop dense, sweet cherries. After careful harvesting, this lot is fully washed to highlight the clarity and structure that Parainema is known for.

In the cup, Jorge’s Parainema is comforting and layered: brown sugar sweetness, a nutty backbone, gentle spice, and a sweet fruit note that lifts the finish. Directly sourced from Jorge and roasted to showcase its balance, this coffee is equally at home as a daily drip or a slower weekend pourover.

Our partner, Jorge Lagos, is always open to trying new coffee varietals on his farm. He has had great success with Java, a coffee originally from the Island of Java in Indonesia. This varietal grows exceptionally well in Nicaragua due to the rich soil and Jorge's impressive farming techniques. This Java maintains its original Indonesian DNA but it has a Nicaraguan twist that is sure to delight your taste buds.
